VEGFEST STORY

2013 – The first Vegan festival – Vegfest - The biggest outdoor event in Hong Kong

Vegfest is organized by a group of local organisations. Over 4,000 attendees during the first one, which surprised everyone, and exhibitors also make quite good profits. Vegfest therefore continue every year. Every year, number of visitors remains above 6,000. We have also added more environmental protection elements to raised awareness about climate change issue. Most importantly vegan food is so delicious and nutrition rich.

2013年 – 香港首次出現大型户外素食嘉年華

香港素食嘉年華由本地多個團體一起籌辦，首屆入場人數竟然超過4千人讓大家喜出望外，參展商也收穫不少。因此以後每年舉辦一次，入場人數平均保持在6千人以上，我們也加入更多環保概念與元素，讓大家體會到素食的豐盛絕對不比肉類食品遜色。

2019 and Before: Hong Kong Vegfest unexpectedly become branded

Hong Kong has just begun to experience unprecedented difficulties since mid of 2019. We were fortunate to be able to host the only outdoor activity during the year. Our past efforts have been recognized by the public and many platforms. Vegfest was listed in the “Top Ten Vegan Festival” by Lonely Planet just ranks second only to Tokyo, Japan in Asia Pacific region.

Hong Kong Vegfest 2019 was granted the title "Green Outdoor Event" under the "Green Outdoor Event Commendation Scheme", jointly organised by the Environmental Campaign Committee and the Environmental Protection Department, to commend the Hong Kong Vegan Association’s green efforts in organising outdoor events.

2019年與過去 - 意外地在香港成為品牌

在2019年香港剛開始步入前所未有的困難，我們却幸運地赶上了这场戶外活動，成功完成了香港唯一户外外因過去努力得到大眾肯定、國際與本地都得到不少平台的推介以及嘉許。香港素食嘉年華被 Lonely Planet《孤獨星球》評為 “全球十大蔬食節” (Top Ten Vegan Festival) 中的第八名。在亞太區則排名第二，僅次於日本東京。 Lonely Planet 已售出超過 1.45 億本旅遊指南，而這本純素旅行手冊，是他們首次以純素食為主題的一本旅行手冊，向純素食者推介世界各地不錯的地方和活動。同年也成為香港環保署環保運動委員會舉辦的「綠色戶外活動計劃」下的嘉許為「綠色戶外」活動，以表揚我們為環保活動所付出的努力。

2020 transformation: Online or Offline?

Outdoor activities in Hong Kong were affected by the epidemic even most were cancelled. However, we were grateful the opportunity given by LOHAS Expo that we were able to use their stage in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to perform some of our activities during LOHAS Expo. Some exhibitors were given booths in the venue to display and sell their products. Of course, activities will be mainly held online.

2020年的蛻變 – 穿梭線上線下

香港本地受疫情影響，戶外活動未能順利舉辦，然而我們卻能得到香港樂活博覽的協助我們可以使用香港會議展覽中心的舞台開展活動，部分商戶得到有場地展銷其產品，當然我們以新嘗試將活動全部以網上為主，與世界各地的活動一樣，為大家提供不少網上節目，能充分利用互聯網舉辦活動，大家就可以一起在起跑線飛躍。

2021 and Beyond: Now! Let’s Go Vegan and let our world be green

Vegfest in 2021 comes to a digital world. We provide exhibitors with multimedia marketing services on a new platform which our consumers are expecting plantbased products and services from local to worldwide.

2021 年大家努力做好今天展望美好將來

2021年香港素食嘉年華將會以全新平台為參展商提供多媒體流動通訊推廣服務。並且平台將推廣至國內與亞太平台，加強了商戶的植物性產品與服務推廣到精準的銷售渠道，讓消費者認識。
